Jeff Mitchell joined Infocus as group Chief Investment Officer (CIO) in August 2018. His primary responsibility in this role is operational management of Alpha Investment Management Pty Ltd, AFSL 307379, and its corporate authorised representative Alpha Funds Managers Pty Ltd, business unit of Infocus Wealth Management Ltd. In his role as CIO Jeff is the owner of all investment products and services provided by Alpha, this includes managed funds and Separately Managed Accounts (SMA). Jeff has operational oversight of all functions within Alpha and is hands-on with capital markets, asset allocation and portfolio construction. Jeff chairs the Alpha and Infocus Investment Committees and is a member of the Infocus executive. Jeff comes to us from Australian Unity Personal Financial Services (PFS) where he was their head of investment research for five and a half years. Incorporated in this role he was a portfolio manager for PFSIM Pty Ltd, the investment management arm of PFS, which runs their three objective-based multi-strategy and an Australian Large Cap direct equity Separately Managed Accounts. He also managed the research team responsible for capital markets, portfolio construction, direct and managed investments research. Prior to PFS Jeff spent four and a half years with Standard & Poors Wealth Management Services (WMS) where he was a director and co-head of the WMS business. At S&P, Jeff provided asset consulting and investment support to the wealth management arms of some of Australia largest financial institutions. Before joining S&P, Jeff was a director and Head of Investment Research and Training at Pitcher Partners Investment Services. He began his formal investment research career in 1999 as an adviser and investment specialist with Haines Muir Hill Investment Service, at the time one of the largest practices in the Lonsdale dealer group. Jeff is a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) and holds the following qualifications:
